In the first livestream of the new year OverloadUT and dahanese are joined by Trick Dempsey playing on live US PC servers talking a little about the new expansion and answering players questions.

It exists, we are writing some more blogs about it and it is coming February 2014.

Questions

When will the Warmaster be fixed from glitching into the wall?

I have one fix for that which should theoretically be coming out next week, as we have a large patch that we have been working on all weeks.

New Maps

For 7th legion there are no new maps, but we are working on new maps for a future update right now.

Warmaster Rewards

Green rewards - I've just actually fixed that. If you killed him you should have been getting one reward that was either epic or legendary but unfortunately it had a green and a blue inside of there as well, so we pulled those and you will definitely get an epic or legendary.

Other rolls are unchanged except that the chances of getting a default Volge Thunderer Typhoon or sniper rifle pistol or assault rifle were extremely low like less than one in a million, I've fixed those and made it balance with the rest of them. As a side effect this makes the first non DLC locked weapon drop from the Warmaster available the Volge LMG.

Surge Bolters

They are far too accurate and they also charge too quickly for how much their damage multiplier can be based on their weapon critical. So we are going to be making the hip spread much worse, so that you need to be in aim mode. On top of that we are making the time it takes for the shot to be in the narrowest shot pattern longer.

It will make them less effective, but still probably the largest burst damage in the game.

Clustershots and Volge Battle Rifles hip firing accuracy

They are inaccurate when hip firing, and that is on purpose. They are intended to be difficult to use when hip firing and very accurate when firing aimed. 

Particularly true with the LMG, the hip fired clustershot will still hit if you are kind of close, and that's kind of funny since it is explosive.

Cold Fire weapons particle effects

I think that some of them are too big, it's a general issue also when you have a lot of people firing at the same time it is difficult to follow what is going on on-screen.

We may tone down those visual effects, we probably won't do it for 7th legion but we might do it afterwards. Yes we hear you, and also the transparency issues with the shield BMG. We need to revist those effects either by assigning new effects that are smaller or by toning down the current ones.

Chat Update

The chat update is in the upcoming DLC. We have been doing a few things to improve user experience within it, and in keeping with the other UIs in the game.

Important things to know is that it is going back down to the bottom right of the screen, we are giving filtering options that people will find more familiar. For example tabs which you can customise the channels.

Protection Spikes in PvP not being one shot by detonators

They should, so we will have to look into that.

Tier 4 Mods in 7th Legion

The reputation vendor will in fact have tier 4 mods on him, we are also doing updates to the Mod Hordes to the other vendors so that they will give out a pack of 4, one of each slot to their chosen synergy. As well as adding Weapon Hordes to each of the main faction vendors, so you can now get Scavenger Sniper Rifles etc.

We are hoping you will go for the faction grind for those items rather than putting them all up for sale on the store individually.

Events

We have elaborate plans for April Fools, which may or may not come into being. We are hoping to add some sort of holiday things. With Rift they have to deal with fantasy universe and create events, but being based on Earth they can use familiar holidays.

Break down items in claims

We are doing a big update to the claim items area because it's filling up with stuff. We are looking at allowing you to break them down, sell them. And not anytime particularly soon, but send from claim items to your friends.

Melee Weapon Expansion

Right now we are expanding the melee weapons by one, we are adding another charge blade like weapon. We are looking into it, but it's getting the time to do it.

I don't really want to do a melee update until you can parry someones attack or more choices involved than get close and hit them. And perhaps look at the system at which you charge attacks, especially in PvP.

Tie-in story missions

We are doing a recording session for some of the crossover events perhaps next week. We have some voiceover recordings doing, we are in negotiations with getting certain actors from the show back into the game, or into the game for the first time.

We are in contact with SyFy, not only are we doing strong between season nearer to the launch of the second season of the television series, but a very different type of crossover than we have done before for our season two.

I can't say much about it, we have three discrete storylines that we are doing and they are all directly tying in and teasing things that are happing in the show.

Hide UI

In the live client can you not press F9? No? Lame. So we'll probably turn that on. I've been using the GM client for so long I hadn't realised that you can't just get rid of it.

Volge Sieges drop grenades

They will drop proper gear for you, we are doing a patch next week. We are doing a lot of quality control on it, and so that is one of the fixes that is going in. As well as fixing the loot drop issues and kill credit.

Crafting System

Not any time soon. The closest at the moment is adding mods to weapons.

Auto pickup spikes / stims / grenades

We are still not liking that because it would take away the tactical decision for encouring grenade throwing and switching.

One of the fixes we are making is making certain that you can always pick up the grenades on the ground, at the moment there are a handful of situations which prevent you from doing that.

Personal Housing

Not presently for player or clan housing at present. They definitely wouldn't be in the open world because we have multiple server phases.

Hard Mode

There is a hard mode coming.

Mobs Easier

It's actually your weapons are better, rarity increased damage etc. We haven't adjusted mob stats.

Arkfall Crystals

We are going to decrease the frequency of those so that you can fight more interesting enemies instead of a crystal.

Detonators and Projectiles

We have a failsafe inside of the code and data which restricts a weapon to only be responsible for only a certain number of projectiles at once. This is done to ensure server stability and overwhelm players interface. We have increase the maximum ammunition of our detonator weapons so much that we are going to be upping that number eventually.

Update probably with the DLC.

Favorite Items moved to the top

It's also annoying that you scroll to the bottom you will cycle to the top, but if you scroll to the top you won't cycle to the bottom.

We are doing some inventory optimisations, but in addition I don't want to move to the top when you favorite an item but rather keep your position in it. As it is a better experience when you mass favorite items after getting lots of loot.

I don't know if that particular update will make it to the next DLC but it will be coming before the second season.

Disconnects

It is something we are working on.

Reducing PvP Queues

We have a couple of matchmaking issues which we are resolving. I will have to check when that fix is going out. We are doing something that improves matchmaking.

Inventory Checkbox

It is possible we could add it back for the PC client, but also simply the compare function right now is much more efficient for consoles than it is for PC. We might change the function for PCs.

Favorite Button on Consoles Keybind

We could add that to the keybinds probably.

Increase keys and batteries limit

We will not be increasing the number of keys and ark batteries at one time, we will make it better messaged when you are full.

We want you spending them.

HD Textures

I have to find out what is going on with them. The character model textures are on the machines but I don't know if terrain textures are on the machine or if you would have to download them.

Raid Controls

We are looking what the best option for that is, there is no concept of a raid or a group above 4.

It would have to be added and a UI for it, and it doesn't accurately portray how most people play. Most likely we will change invites to start a match of a certain kind and invite all of the clan and open up the queue to other people.

Warmaster Arm Alternate

Not likely, it would require animation and scripting updates. It would make him a lot harder. Although there is an arguement for shooting for the left arguement instead of the right. Also every piece of armor you knock off increases the damage he takes.

Can we have Stahmas hair?

We don't really do hairs as outfits, that takes you back to character create. It's almost like we should add a barber.

Area chat to Warmaster instances

Yes, why isn't it in there...

Freezing and Lag

We are aware of this issue primarily restricted to consoles. We are addressing that as quick as we can.

Ammo Cache on player

Right now when people go to ammo caches they get their ammo filled.

Re-customization

At the moment after purchase you have to claim the item, and then log in again, I want to clean that up.

Vehicle Steering

Seems to be behaving the same.

Vehicle De-spawning

Is a common problem, and has been a problem since launch. It hasn't really increased in frequency. I am curious if you have changed your behaviour that increased the frequently.

Ammo count is reduced when using ammo cache or zones

Any of the spare things inside of your magazine disappear whenever you swap, because it takes you to your maximum number but you can go over that maximum number if you switch weapons and refill.

Detonator damage

Many of the detonators were buffed, those that weren't buffed did not so a significant number of people not using them.

Vehicle timer

It is coming back, it was omitted by accident.
