Giveaway Reward Winners

The first Defiance Data giveaway has ended, and the winners have been drawn. Thank you to everyone who took part in our first Giveaway. We wrote a system to sign up and give away the rewards, and it performed brilliantly.
Congratulations to the 24 people who have won an Extra Life Lockbox (a renamed Tier 4 Lockbox), you can see the list below or check out the Giveaway Page.
Those who won will receive a notification on the top-right of your screen with the code to enter into the account center.
Thoughts after this giveaway:
- The giveaway duration was probably too long, maybe 3 days instead of 7 would have been a good amount
- A giveaway really did boost the amount of registrations and interactions on the site, I'd like to do more of them
- I didn't find out enough about the reward before I offered it, I'll do better next time

yeah it would be alittle hectic to try and make a worthwhile giveaway especially with the current system in place in game.

well done to all the winners, the fact i never won just goes to show it was a fair competition as i tried to bribe Etaew with all the onions he could shave!

One thing I noticed while trying to contribute data, I went to add what I got from a 7th Legion Supply Crate and discovered that it would only accept the extra roll and not the gear itself. Is this is a bug, unfinished feature, or intentional?
Thank you, what that means is that I haven't specified the amount of weapons or shields that can roll from that lockbox. I should realy lock submissions until I have that information.

Yeah I'd like to have a giveaway with some valueable rewards. My problem with peoples contributing items is that it would be platform and region locked, which is pretty unfair :(

Thanks for your comments, highlighting this part. I was so worried that something was going to go wrong with the reward system, I was constantly checking the code and making test events. In the end I just hit a button and it all worked, yay!

Etaew, aside from the commentaries you made about the giveaway, I'd link to point out that I felt this action really brought the community together around DefianceData. It was fun, it was easy to take part in, and it was awesome to see people winning it.
Also, it brough good Karma to Trion. Defiance has a lot of bugs and really irritates people from time to time, so, no one likes to admit it is a really fun game, and we just want to get more out of it, without having to reset our systems every 40 minutes (at least on the PS3...).Trion could use some good karma right now and verify the community does love the game, and just wants it better. 24 LockBoxes certainly was a gesture of goodwill that cost almost nothing to Trion, but the organization DefianceData has shown us in promoting the action and actually delivering on it, without a hitch, was the icing on the cake. Here's wishing this is the start of something great.
Congratulations on the idea, I hope that DefianceData and Trion work together more times - not just giveaways, although I love those --, the information of this site alone as a hub of all things Defiance was already awesome, and together with a few pro-community actions, could really stand out more.
