  1. When can we expect the next content update for Silicon Valley?
We have a few more updates (mostly bug fixes) to get to PTS and once those are good we will roll them out to the live servers.
  2. Do we have an updated time for when rain could appear again in Silicon Valley?
We are only happy when it rains properly, so we will likely hold off on this for a bit. There were two issues that caused us to pull rain: There were some bugs with rain being completely blocked when inside buildings, and the geometry on trees that pointed down (away from the rain) has visual issues. Besides – while there lots of fog and rain in San Fran, it’s almost always sunny further down in Silicon Valley.
  3. Will the jackpot weapon drop at your EGO Rating or will they be like Paradise weapons and start at 5k?
The Jackpot weapon will match the EGO rating of the player that attains it.
  4. Will open mod slots on jackpot weapons be a random roll, should they be all open at 5k?
For the Wildcat, all mod slots will be open when the item is received. We’ll evaluate future items on a case-by-case basis, but the goal is to have the item be usable as soon as you get your hands on it, so the likelihood is that future jackpot items will work the same way.
  5. How happy are you with the current status of server and client stability?
As with any MMO, we will always be working to improve stability. We won’t be happy until its perfect! Particularly - this week - there have been several issue that have arisen that we are working on.
  6. Could the phrasing be looked at in regards to the lock boxes on the Defiance store to help people better understand what they are purchasing and help to avoid negative experiences?
We plan to update the descriptions and possibly the names of the lock boxes with the next major client update.
  7. Keeping people engaged in the game is always a challenge, are there any plans to aid in keeping players acquired with free to play?
Yes! Throughout the summer we have had crossover events and new content to go along with the TV Show. Moving into the fall and winter we will continue to add new content and improve the game. Our next round of missions are scheduled to come out in late September!
  8. How often will the jackpot weapons rotate? Will there be repeats? Can we vote?
The jackpot weapon is a bit of an experiment. We’ll be keeping a close eye on how it goes and will rotate it out for new items on a timeframe that makes sense based on player interest. That will likely be every few weeks, but this isn’t set in stone. The plan is to only have a single jackpot item at a time. We’d love to hear suggestions on items you’d like to see included!
  9. Can jackpot weapons be traded or sold?
The current jackpot weapon can be traded. We made it tradable so even if you don’t want or can’t use it, there’s still significant value in being able to trade it to someone who does. There may be items in the future that need to be non-tradable, but the plan is to keep them tradable as much as possible.
  10. The reduction of the rate of aquiring Keycodes and Arkforge may have been necessary but as a result I find myself not motivated to participate in a number of events. Are there any plans to encourage us again?
Well, you should definitely check out this post from Rashere, one of our economy-focused Defiance devs!
