What's New on Defiance Data - January Week #4

We started keeping track of all of our changes in December 2014 in our What's New. We want to inform you weekly about the changes we made to Defiance Data, featuring some of our bigger tasks in a week.

This week our biggest changes have been:

• Introduction of the Shoutbox
• Dedicated Calendar Pages
• A lot of other stuff

Introduction of the Shoutbox

Instead of our old and clunky chat page, we now have a Shoutbox being displayed at the right side of every page on Defiance Data, located above recent activity. It will display the last two Shoutbox entries.

To see all shoutbox entries, click on "View Shoutbox". You will be presented with a larger shoutbox featuring the last 8 entries and an archive.

 

Dedicated Calendar Pages

We've changed the appearance of our calendar a bit. But not only did we change that, every entry now has a dedicated page to take down further information about upcoming events.

You'll see:

• Start and End times of events (In UTC and PST)
• If an event is confirmed or unconfirmed
  • Confirmed events have a link to the confirmation at the top
• Already known information about an event we'll update every time we get new information

Rest of week #4

• Cleaned up dedicated PTS Page - News are now full width, 5 news will be displayed
• Updated the prompt for whitelist image for the advert banners.
• You can now apply a filter for the front page feed, All, News Only and Dev Posts Only.
  • Added buttons to dedicated pages (dev tracker, News and PTS)
• Model Viewer (Star Characters) now have previews.
• Mission tooltips are improved now showing the quest text and rewards.
• Started posting PTS Patches as news as well. They will appear in between news/dev posts on the front page as well.
• Condensed the Missions overall view, I want to work on this more at some point and allow showing of mission chains / main missions and side mission relations better.
• Enervator added to Weapons DB and List of Jackpot Items
• Added contents to List of Jackpot Items
• Model Viewer (Vehicles) now have preview images
• All Vehicles now have their correct icons
• Vehicles DB now has filters for Challenger, Durango, Raptor, Duni, Nomad, Hannibal and Growler
• Released Claims Section Guide
• On the home page, the boxes for Calendar, Database, Guides and Tools have been condensed into a single box with tabs.
• Continue to add missing Missions to the DB, my collection charactercontinuesthroughSausalito and I've added:

• Calendar section expanded at the top of the home page.
• Fixed an issue where events on the Calendar page wouldn't say if an event was unconfirmed.
• Added a section for tools on the home page.
• Added "obtain" to Radiant Solstice and Blackened Hellfire weapons
• Added Heartbreaker Weapons and Filter to Weapons DB
• Heartbreaker Synergy added to Synergies DB
• Colony Courtship Minor and Major Arkfall added to Arkfalls DB
• Added support for tooltips for custom DD URLs.
• You can now edit your profile and set a tooltip as well as a longer description. Try to keep tooltips short.
• Devs now have avatars shown to the left of their posts on the front page.
