Hypothetical Features - Campaigns

Defiance's version of endgame content is PvP progression and gun progression, neither of these have the interface elements to properly make these satisfying. I think we lack another type of progression, short of actually progressing through main missions we don't have any meaningful tracked progress in a campaign through a zone or enemy group.

Note: This is a hypothetical feature discussion, this does not related to any upcoming content.

Inspired by Neverwinter's campaigns I would like to give meaning to daily and weekly contracts, as have visible progression to unlock further content.

Take for example this hypothetical Shrill campaign.


 

Shrill in Silicon Valley

Anti-Shrill Faction

Would require a new reputation faction to represent a force fighting against the Shrill

Shrill Contracts

Would also need Daily and Weekly Contracts which reward Shrill reputation currency

Shrill Vendor

Spend Shrill currency for Shrill themed weapons and outfits

(Stage 1) Defeat Shrill Enemies

  • Kill Shrill type 1 (50)
  • Kill Shrill type 2 (30)
  • Kill Shrill type 3 (20)

Unlocks Stage 2

(Stage 2) Clear Shrill Emergencies

  • Clear Shrill Energency (20)

Unlocks Stage 2

(Stage 3) Clear Shrill Arkfalls

  • Complete Shrill Daily Contracts (14)
  • Complete Shrill Weekly Contracts (2)

Unlocks Stage 4

(Stage 4) Unlock Shrill Vendor

  • Reach 200 Reputation with Shrill faction

Unlocks Shrill Vendor, Stage 5

(Stage 5) Unlock Shrill Conflict Site

  •  Reach 1000 Reputation with Shrill faction

Unlocks a Shrill conflict site with nicer rewards
