That Hurricane Regen is 90% because it has a nano resistance. There are some shields though that can be broken and come with lower stats w/ no nano resistance such as some 7th Legion Shields.

The resetting is visual. Your progress is stored, you just don't see it.
As soon as they fixed it after the holidays, your pursuit should get ticked off automatically.

The restart was to enable the Defiant Few Solstice Strike contracts, which contain the daily and weekly reward boxes. These will not be affected by completion of the reindeer contracts.

Our dev team is aware of the issue with the experimental guns, and is working on finding a fix. For now, as B3lz3buth said, don't pick up the experimental guns.
