Arkforge is a currency used in the Salvage Matrix to upgrade a weapon's ego rating, rarity or changing the weapon's mastery bonus.

- Upgrading weapon rarity - requires item not to be encrypted, item becomes encrypted on upgrade

- uncommon to rare - 100
- rare to epic - 200
- epic to legendary - 500
- Changing weapon mastery bonus (75 Arkforge for legendary weapons)

That is why a lot of the vets tell the newbies that you should only keep those weapons you want to level with at uncommon or rare status.
That jump to epic or legendary is the reason I dumped some legendaries I got in the mid 1k ego levels.

Unfortunately, the cost to increase rating seems to increase (double?) each time its done on a specific item.
This means that your old Survivalist's Rifle would cost an insane amount of arkforge to keep with you at max level.
