Rashere Says Farewell, Morticus Says Hello

Rashere has announced he is leaving Defiance with Rarnok and Morticus (new from RIFT team) will be trying to fill his shoes.

Ark Hunters, it has been an honor and a pleasure to serve with you over these last couple of years, but the time has come for me to depart from the New Frontier. 

As a developer coming into an ongoing game like Defiance, my primary goal is always to leave the game in a better state than when I joined. Hopefully I’ve been able to accomplish that and the results have provided you with many hours of explosive entertainment.

I’ll be leaving Defiance in good hands. Rarnok will continue his great work with PvP and itemization and Morticus is coming over from the RIFT team to help out with all the gameplay systems. 

With that, I'll let Morticus introduce himself so you can start getting to know him.

Hey All!

Thank you Rashere for everything you've done for Defiance and the community! We're going to miss you!

I'm looking forward to helping out wherever possible on the systems side of Defiance and of course working with you, the community to keep making Defiance great!

I've been an avid gamer since the early 80s (Am I showing my age here?) and started playing shooters on the PC in the late 90s around the time I got out of the military (No Navy jokes, please! No, I'm not a SEAL but I do have a thousand yard stare). 

I got into the industry as a game tester at 3DO back in 1998 and starting doing level design work on PS2 games shortly thereafter. I've had the pleasure of contributing to several titles such as EverQuest II, Champions Online, Star Trek Online more recently Rift and now Defiance.
