Defiance 2050 - Nano Effects

The new Damage Types in 2050 follow a more Rock, Paper, Scissors approach between the 3 health group types, Health, Armor and Shields.

Nano Effects can be applied on your weapon in the Ammo Mod slot, and an icon will appear over an enemies head if they are attacking with it.


 Corrosive: Armor Damage

Strong vs Armor, Weak vs Shields and Health

Corrosive rounds turn Armor into butter, dealing bonus damage against targets with active armor. Shields and Health are resistant to the chemical composition making them less effective.

 Electrical: Shield Damage

Strong vs Shields, Weak vs Armor and Health

Ion rounds scramble energy fields dealing bonus Shield damage, but are smaller caliber than other amunition making them less effective against Armor and Health.

 Incendiary: Health Damage

Strong vs Health, Weak vs Armor and Shields

Incendiary rounds melt unprotected flesh, dealing bonus Health damage. Shields and Armor dampen the heat causing them to be less effective while active.

 Piercing: Armor Penetration

Strong vs Armored Enemies with Health, Weak vs Shield, Armor and Health

Piercing rounds drill through tough Armor to deal a portion of their damage directly to Health. "Drillers" deal less direct damage to Armor, Shield and Health.

 Quantum: Shield Penetration

Strong vs Shielded Enemies with Health, Weak vs Shield, Armor and Health

Quantum rounds are capable of phasing a portion of their payload directly through Shields, dealing a portion of their damage directly to Health. The phasic matter within lacks the density of normal matter and deals less direct damage to Shields, Armor and Health.
