  1. Can you tell us about what new and shiny things are on the horizon in Defiance?
We’ve got a few things on the horizon for Defiance. We’ve got Free to Play reaching the Xbox 360, we’re finalizing another update targeting late September, and we’re working on our first big update for after Season 2.
  2. What are the current priorities of the Defiance team?
First, we’re focusing on stability and security. We’ve been under siege by hackers for a while now, and we’re rolling out several measure to reduce the impact of their nefarious meddling. Our second priority is our economy: we have a strike team dedicated to keeping Defiance a consistent, rewarding experience. Our third focus is to roll out new content; we have a slew of story missions and instances to roll out as well as a bunch of new gear.
  3. What happened to the large Grid enemy with the six legs? We haven't seen them yet.
The Inquisitor? Oh, he’s coming. We’re making sure he’s the right bastard that he should be. Also, we made him a little taller.
  4. Can we have an update on the recent stability issues that we’ve encountered?
There have been a mix of stability fixes happening over the past few weeks. On August 25th, we made a backend network change that was causing sporadic packet loss and are interested to hear if you noticed improvements.
  5. We’ve seen Volge weapons. Will there ever be Grid weapons?
We are currently developing a new line of weapons, but they are not Grid-themed in particular.
  6. Can we have pet skitterlings? They don’t need to do anything in particular. Just hang out.
We would love to add both cosmetic and functional pets to Defiance, but we’ll need to focus on stability more before we consider doubling the number of characters that appear whenever an ark hunter is around.
  7. We’d really like to see some armor dye. Is that possible in the future?
Dye is certainly possible, however the tricky part for it is that it would require a material update to all outfits, weapons, etc that we want to be tinted (and will require some textures to be updates as well). This means we need to alter a lot of client assets, which will cause a (relatively) large patch.
  8. Can we have the ability to mark Outfits, Headgear, Titles and Vehicles as favorites?
Vehicles can already be flagged as favorite. We have added a task for the others but it is likely lower priority.
  9. Can we have the ability to break down multiple items in claims?
We should add this feature. Also, fix the issue where claims view does not update when an item is broken down.
  10. Can we have an applicable rarity filter to Sell All?
We can create a discrete filter for this; it was intended to use the same filter as mass breakdown.
  11. Can we please have unique icons for the different types of spikes and stims?
Yes, we know many people have asked for this. We will put it on the UI list.
  12. Does the FOV Shift setting still work? If so, what is it supposed to do?
Indeed it does still work. FOV Shift and UI Shake are two settings which heavily impact motion sickness. The FOV Shift kicks in during a few camera movements in the game. Most notably it affects sprinting.
  13. Will we ever get a threat level higher than 10?
Probably not. Rather we’ll make areas, like Silicon Valley, where the entire threat system is shifted higher. (Most events in Silicon Valley treat EGO rating 1000 as the base and EGO rating 6000 as the max.)

I'm also curious to know what they have planned for that little area of San Francisco that's still blocked off.
