Why are you closing the Exchange?
After two months of operation, we decided that closing the Exchange was in the best interests of game stability in Defiance. For more details, please see the article Destromathe has posted here.

Can't you fix it?
We have tried multiple approaches and have been unable to resolve the core issues surrounding stability, due to underlying technical limitations of the game software.

Will you bring it back in the future?
At this time, we have no plans to bring the Exchange back to Defiance.

What does this mean for the future of Defiance?
It means a more stable game experience for everyone. Defiance continues in development with plenty of content coming down the line. We love our dedicated player community and our Devs care about the future of the game as much as players do. Watch for our news articles on our blog!

When are you closing the Exchange?
Effective 7-25-2016, we will disable placing items for sale on the Exchange. Several weeks after that, we will close it for good. This should be ample time for players to claim any items that are still in the claim section on the Exchange. Please make sure that your items are removed before the final date the exchange is up or they will be gone for good. Once we get closer to the time frame, we will notify all players of the exact date we will be turning off the Exchange.

I paid to access the Exchange. Will I get my bits back?
Yes! We will refund all bits spent on Exchange slots. This will be granted when the Exchange fully goes offline. If you run into any issues after this grant has been completed, please contact our Customer Service team at support.trionworlds.com

What about the Patron Pass I purchased specifically so I could use the Exchange?
We will compensate all players who purchased a Patron Pass in the two months since the release of the Exchange with an additional 30 day Patron Pass.

I want to buy stuff on the Exchange, how will this impact me?
You’ll continue to be able to purchase items from the Exchange until all remaining listings expire. Please claim your items promptly after purchase; items that are left unclaimed after the Exchange is removed will no longer be available.

I’m selling/want to sell stuff on the Exchange, how will this impact me?
We’ll disable new item listings on the Exchange starting on 7-25-2016. Anything you want to sell using the Exchange needs to be listed before then! After that, you can still use the Need/Want subforum on the Official Defiance Forums to let other Defiance players know about items you have for sale.

What’s the deadline to get my items back from the Exchange?
We will be announcing the final day the Exchange will be available very soon! When we close the service on that day, all remaining items on the Exchange will disappear and cannot be replaced.

Are you providing any compensation for players of Defiance?
Yes, once we are able to get through the process of pulling the Exchange from the game, we will be compensating players for being patient with this release. Stay tuned for further updates regarding this compensation.
